Today was a beautiful autumn day - a day that would be hard to spend inside when you could be outside enjoying the cool breeze, the warm sun, the blue sky, and the gorgeous autumn trees!

Michigan is so beautiful in the autumn! I had a great time being outside. I am so grateful that we have these times together. I love my grandson very much - he's the best! Soon we will have another grandchild to love and play with -can't wait! :)
In the midst of all of the chaos in the world right now with the economic crisis and the crazy Presidential campaign, it struck me how peaceful it was at the park today and how peaceful we can feel in the middle of a world at unrest because we have a family who loves us and a God who holds us in his hand!

Great pictures, sis! What a fabulously beautiful little park. Glad you could all enjoy it together ... miss you!
I love this park and often go there with my son. Unfortunately, today will be the last time I feel safe going by myself with my young son. We were by the beautful waterfall, waiting quietly for the ducks that some times appear. A woman, in her late 60s, sat down not far from us and lit a cigarette. I asked her if smoking was allowed in the park (it is unfortunately) and she responded that she didn't know or care. Another woman, her daughter, I assume approached with her son, a little younger than my 2 year old and started telling me it was a free country. I said that I knew it was, but it was too bad that she wanted to ruin our children's health by smoking near them, and my son and I began to walk away. The older, smoking woman yelled at me, using foul language, as we left. The young er woman also began to yell and I felt very unsafe. I waited near groups of people until they left, fearing they might try to hurt me or my child as I secured him in his car seat. I know it's not illegal to smoke outsidem but why would someone with a discusting think they have a right to verbally assault me and my child for expressing our wish that they not smoke near us.
The younger woman drove a Ford Edge with a personalized plate "edgehog".
